For WoW i have only been in very few competitions. However i have played both PvE in full End Game Raiding Guilds as well as competing in your standard PvP Battlegrounds and Arena Teams (of which i was in a 2400 Rated Team prior to transferring servers). Gameplay wise i have been playing since Beta release and have a broad knowledge of the game mechanics and content/lore. What will you teach your customer?
I will teach the customer anything from how to spec (dependant on what they are after), how to work together in groups/raids, how to gear up accordingly (dependant on spec) and what rotations and abilities to use in whatever situation. There is a multitude of things i can teach the customer relating to this particular class, and alot i can teach them regarding other classes as well. What makes you a good tutor?
I have been playing WoW as a Paladin since Beta Release, i know my class in and out throughout all of the class changes. I currently play an End Game PvE Retribution Paladin however i have also been an End Game PvE Holy Paladin and know both Specs very well. I enjoy playing my character and making him the best he can be, i am knowledgable in both PvE and PvP (Arena/Battleground) content and can help the customer with whichever they require, whether they are starting afresh and need a helping hand or if they are a long time player requiring a little help getting accustomed to their class changes. How is the lessons structered?
Basically for WoW i would break down the core components of the class (in my case the Paladin Class) and start from the beginning.
Lesson 1: Paladin Spec (Holy/Prot/Ret) (1 hour)
Essentially this lesson i would teach the customer how to pull specs together. There are a multitude of different specs to take depending on the type of Paladin they wish to play. For every PvE Spec there is a PvP Alternative. There are essentially 6 specs to run with with room for variation in each. This lesson would teach the customer about the Pros and Cons of each spec and when/where to use it.
Lesson 2: Stats Training (1 hour)
This lesson will go through what each and every Stat is available to the Paladin. It will outline what is and isn't important, which stats take priority over others and how to cap them. Making sure you have the right mixture of stats is very important, it will maximise your ability (depending on your spec) to perform to the best you can. Stacking the wrong stats can, and will, cost you greatly.
Lesson 3: Gearing Up & Gemming/Enchanting Accordingly (1.5 - 2 Hours)
Basically this lesson would be teaching the customer what gear is right for them. It's not a matter of put on whatever looks good but having the right mixture of Stats is a must. I would teach them what gear works well and what doesn't (dependant on Spec and whether they are PvE/PvP) for the first half followed by how to correctly Gem and Enchant their gear to maximise their ability.
Lesson 4: PvE Training (1.5 - 2 hours)
This lesson will outline the fundamentals behind the PvE environment. Whether for questing, running 5-man Dungeons (Heroic or Normal) or jumping into a Raiding environment (10/25 man). It will take the previous information and expand on that further on how to utilise that in a PvE Environment (once again dependant on Spec). I will teach the customer how to utilise the previous lessons and turn them into a force to be reckoned with in a Dungeon/Raid situation, whether you are a Healadin (Holy), Retnub (Retribution) or a Tankadin (Prot) i will teach you how to make the best of yourself in these areas.
Lesson 5: PvP Training (1.5 - 2 hours)
PvP training is for those who are wanting to be the best they can be in a PvP environment. Here you will not be fighting against NPC's, whom are very very easy to learn, but against other players. This is where it can get hard. There is a very definate set of rules to follow in both Gear and Spec as well as abilities and spells used. It's a matter of being able to realise what your opponent is (Specwise and Class) and exploit their weaknesses as best you can. This lesson will both relate to your standard PvP (Battlegrounds), World PvP (PvP Servers or Open World) as well as Arena PvP (2's, 3's and 5's).
Lesson 6: Summary, Professions & Race (1 hour)
This lesson is basically a summation of all previous information and tying it all together. This lesson will help you finalise your decision on Spec as well as go over the finer points of those specs. It will also talk about your Professions taken and how to use them to your advantage in any situation as well as the Race you have chosen to utilise your Racial Abilities to the best you can.
